Good Morning All,

Been working on a 1992 Alpha One Gen 2 replacing all of the bellows, shift cable, water hose, lube, etc. Most of my experience is on Merc Outboards, but I have helped do work on I/O's before. I have the Seloc manual, service manual 14, and most of the OEM parts and tools.

The question\issue I have (that I wasn't able to find a direct answer by searching) was this.....

The water pickup\intake hose fits onto the little plastic elbow shaped piece. I got the hose UP TO the elbow, but cannot get it to go past that turn. Is it supposed to go all the way around the elbow, or just up to the elbow part? From the dirt that was on the plastic tube, it looks like the previous person had only put the hose up TO the elbow, not around it.

Any suggestions\advice would be greatly appreciated. Fixed several engines with advice from the forum in the past, finally had to post to fix this issue.

Here's a pic that shows how it goes. (This is not a Gen II, but it should give you a good idea.). I personally like to remove the tube completely. It comes out easily after removing the two bolts inside and the rubber bushing.
