Winterizing Mercruiser 5.0, drain plugs

I just recently purchased my first boat, a 98 Baja 180 Islander with the 5.0 220hp Merc. We are going to winterize soon and am wondering how many drain plugs are on the engine. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

typically 4

one on each manifold
one on each side of the block

Thanks. I've heard anywhere from 4 to 6, with one in the front under the thermostat and water pump area.

Don't forget about the power steering cooler.

On my 2001 5.0 EFI there are six plugs. 3 on the left side of engine and three on the right.

Don't forget about the power steering cooler.

Does the power steering cooler have a plug or do you disconnect the hoses?

Some do and some dont.. take off the hose if your does not have a drain..

its best to take the hose off anyway even if it has a power steering cooler drain plug. That's my thoughts anyway.
