I purchased this boat this week as my first boat. I knew it was going to need work. The story is that it ran 3 years ago then it was winterized and not used again. When checking over things when I got it home I noticed rust in the carb. I used to be a car mechanic so my first instinct was to make sure the motor wasn't locked up. I took the plugs out and put the battery on to try and get the cylinders to move but it's acting like there's no power to the starter. I'm not getting any clicks or anything. I'm wondering if there's a Killswitch that I'm not finding. Any advice?

then you should know, the first thing you do is check your voltage path
clean all your connections
then, as Bondo stated, jump at the starter.

there is no such thing as a pre-alpha. MC1 yes, pre-alpha no.

if you have rust in the carb, you may have other issues. water in the carb will run down the intake to the cylinders.

I read somewhere that it was called pre alpha. My mistake. The rust worried me very much about possibly getting water on top of the cylinders. Any recommendations for pretreatment of the cylinders before I attempt to fire?
