I have 2002 rinker 180 with a mercruiser 3.0. Engine hydrolock on me few days ago. I did a leak down test on the cylinders and while blowing air on number 4 i can hear air coming from carburetor opening. From cylinder 3 and 2 i can hear the air from the opening where you add the oil on engine. And from number 1 seems ok no air leak. Those this mean the gasket is blown or bigger issue?

could be bent valves and/or pushrods as well.

pull the head and look. you already know you need to go that far.

the cause of the hydro-lock needs to be investigated as well.

the mating surfaces need to be cleaned up and checked with a precision ground flat-edge and feeler gauges

look like #1 has a puckered exaust valve, Nos 2and 3 have sticking/bent exaust valves
