Confused. Need a coil for my 2001 mc. Seems it should be pretty generic but maybe not. Its a mc part 392 8M0079202 regular round shaped coil. No idea if its ext or int resistor. Crossover seems to be a Sierra 18-5438.Updated mc number seems to be 300 8M0078202 maybe. This is where it gets interesting. The sierra site also mentions their 18-5469 flame thrower coil which I blv is a petronix flamethrower(logo is same)Says it works with HEI ignition systems(isnt that what tbolt would be?) My mc coil failed comletely and I got things going again by swapping in my petronix flamethrower out of a truck I converted to petronix. No idea if that was a good idea but it does work. Wouldnt mind going with another flamethrower but am a bit lost as to how to determine compatibility. Are these all internal resistor coils or?Thanks for any replies

Spec for the Merc coil is 0.6Ω to 0.8Ω primary resistance. Next question is 'Which Flamethrower coil do you have?', there are quite a few different ones. The one best suited is the 45001, 45011 or the 45111. HERE is the coil chart.
