I just got this boat home and Now im looking at restoring it for a fishing boat. The motor is very clean surprisingly enough. I know I have to replace fuel lines and the electrical lines to the starter because they are dry rotted to **** and think something may blow if I try using them.

My questions are....

1. Does anyone have any online books on this motor? there are TONS of adjusters and I don't know what a few do.

2. This boat use to be started using a key... I don't have it currently and it also doesn't have a battery in it either. I would think that without the key pull starting this motor all day long it wont start. right? may seem obvious but I was thinking it may only be for using the starter, but I suppose it would also be a kill switch for the engine.

3. if i hot wire the key there are only 4 wires on there which would i hook up to by pass the key till i find a replacement?

thanks for any info. I hope most of this makes sense. Im going to get some pictures of the engine and get them on here in about 5-10 min. maybe this will help identifying some of the stuff

heres a picture of the whole rig. needs alittle TLC but it will be fast and fun to fish with.
