Johnson 1997 25HP Won't lock on Tilt Pin

Hi Guys,

I seem to have a problem, my outboard won't lock on the tilt pin. If I have it on the 4th Pin position it can sometimes lock, but not on the 2nd. Does anyone have any ideas what needs to be done?

I'll try and post some photos later.

i read another post about this and if i remember right ther was a metal rod that had come unhooked and it was jaming there some how.
Id lock it in the total upright position and see if there is any thing out of whack.

As you can see below, it doesnt hook on to the pin properly

I think we need more pictures. It is hard to get a good perspective on what is going on there.
