hey there,
Im having a problem with my motor. Can anyone Help?

It runs great, starts great, etc...

After running across the lake last weekend, we stopped and fished for about an hour... then the engine would not start again. The battery was full of power , the engine cranked fast, but no start. I was told it might be the coil tht after warm up can go bad?

Any other suggestions?

I would really appreciate some help.

Thanks!

Put an inductive timing light on each of the 4 plugwires and see if you have spark on all 4 wires. If so, then it may be a fuel issue.

Heat a problem for ignition components. They may test ok when the engine is cold then fail when reaching normal operating temps.

So... If I put a new coil in could that possibly fix this problem?

There are four coils - highly unlikely that all four failed at once. As noted above - check for spark first before you start replacing parts. Might be as simple as a kill switch wire grounding out...

Generally, coils are pretty reliable. Switching them will determine if one is bad. Other ingition components have higher failure rates that coils.

Thanks for all the help.

There is a seprate coil for each Spark Plug?!

If it is the kill switch, would I take apart the white control box (with the throtle and key and stuff on it) and bypass the switch?
