1978 jonhson 70 hp idle adjustment??

where is the idle adjustment on this motor? its running high RPM's in neutral.

I'd strongly suggest you purchase a service manual prior to making any adjustments. Turn the wrong screws and you'll be in the market for a new powerhead soon.

The idle screw is the lower of the two screws located on the levers which drive the carb and ignition timing adavnce . The top screw is the throtlle stop screw, just make sure it is not a problem with the control links when in neutral the lever should sit against the lower idle screw , if it not it is most likely a problem with the levers somewhere .
