73, Evinrude 50hp, not getting any spark, talked to the shop today and he told me to pull the cyl 1 screw and the cyl 2 screw, remove the wires and then crank the engine with the test light hooked to cyl 1 to see if the pack was good, then check the cyl 2 screw doing the same thing.
I am just wondering if this is a valid test? I have never had to work on a no spark situation like this, neutral safety switch tests out good, I even disconnected the black/yellow wire to see if I could get a spark and didn't get any action from the coil leads coming out of the power pack. Just want to make sure before I order a new power pack.
Thanks.
