I just completed a carb kit and new plugs on my 85hp Force. When I took it out on the water, it idled very “ quite and Low”. It took forever to start but finally did. I did a few laps and low throttle was ok and full throttle was ok, but middle of the road “ cruising” ran like crap and quit on me several times. Now it’s either putting around or full throttle in order to go. Any ideas???? Thanks

Reset the float.
What's the idle set at?
Is the choke working?
What's the starting procedure your using?
Check the fuel pumps diaphragm.

The first 4 post in this forum have tips and procedures to keep
your motor running good.
Find the Link and Sync and do it.
Check the timing? DON'T change it unless you know how???
Messing with the timing has burned up many a motor.

Between the coils and towershaft is a 9" dogbone shaped cover.
Under that is the recirc system. The screens can be blocked with carbon.
Clean them.
They can be difficult to find in the marine world.
Look at the local smoke shops for screens.
