Throttle cable question

I'm having carb issues which I posted in a previous thread but I also seem to have a throttle cable issue. I took pics but I can't seem to get them to upload so I'll try to describe what's happening.

The throttle cable has a brass sleeve after the anchor point that the cable slides in. It comes apart at the crimped joint. I also have to really stretch it to snap on to the ball stud if I want to leave 5 or 6 threads in the terminal end. As far as I know, it's the original so I'm not sure what to do? I'm trying to get the whole fuel system dialed in and getting this cable adjusted properly seems like ground zero!

PS: any tips on photo loading? It keeps giving me "an unknown error" message when I try to load one. Maybe they're too large?

Top three posts, read them.
One will have a post by FrankA called a link and sync.
It goes through the linkage setup.

The cable connector is it the one with the internal spring?
E-bay, put this # in the search and a few of them show up.

there is a tutorial on loading pics in the rules and guidelines forum. need to re-size the pic on your phone from 4gig down to about 400kb

It's not the snap lock end. It's the brass sleeve, about 5 inches long, before that. I have resized my pics and I still can't get them to load, dang it!

You can try to put it back inside the end of the cable.
Take it loose, and bend the cable as you try to shove it back up inside.
If not mark the cable and replace it.
The length is engraved on the cable.
Photo share, or Shutterfly can help add pics.
Sometime you can only add 1 pic at a time.

I was told by one of the Admins that if you are using a older browser, that could be the reason for not being able to post photo's. I also cannot upload photo's. Even when I've shrunk them down.

If you can fit it back in: tap it with a hammer.
Bu not so hard you mash it together.
