The wing nuts are convenient because they are fast to remove but that's their only benefit. They had the bad habit of loosing by themselves with vibration, thus causing a lot of problems that may be hard to trace. The standard marine procedure is to use nylon lock nut.

Did not know that. Learned something new here again. Next season I'll be replacing those wingnuts.

SS nyloc nuts and a ?” socket ;)

Should I add...a 1/2" socket for the 5/16" nut (-) and a 9/16" socket for the 3/8" nut (+) ;)
