Strip back the outer cover to give you something to work with. Slide an appropriately sized piece of heat shrink tubing over the cover then solder the wires back together. Wrap each individual wire with aluminum foil them the wrap the entire wire bundle with a layer or two of electrical tape. Slide the heat shrink into position and apply heat to shrink the tube and your done.
