When I switch on the battery charger at the 110v panel, it trips the shore power at the shore power GFI outlet. I can keep 110v power to other appliances like the microwave but as soon as I throw the battery charger switch it cuts off the shore power. What could be causing this?

Depends on how your wired.
If the BC has a bad or loose ground this could do it.

Do you gave a galvanic isolator installed on the ground?

It could be due to the voltage surge when you turn the charger on. Does everything work normal after you reset the gfi?

Looking behind the AC panel does not show a loose ground. GFI won't reset as long as the battery charger switch on the AC panel is on. Battery charger has galvanic isolators. Could they have gone bad? Battery charger worked all winter while boat was on lift. Just started tripping the GFI recently.

GFI's can also go bad, guess your going to need an electrician to come have a look

Can you hook up to another shore power connection to see if same happens?
