Adding a battery, what else..

Ive got a 2007 3.0 Volvo penta ski boat. Im looking to add a second battery to power my stereo and speakers so i dont drain my cranking battery. My question is, can my alternator handle it? Its a 75 amp alternator. Ive already bought a 2 battery perko switch. Any advice before i tackle this project? Any other things i would need in addition to the perko?

Yes your ALT can handle it but also suggest adding a automatic charge relay (ACR. The ACR will automatically charge the second bat without flipping the switch. The switch can still be used to combine bats if needed to start
