1986 125 hp outboard Force.
Tilt/trim works but the engine comes down slowly within minutes.
I read the post on the FAQ section. It is showing an expired eBay link.
Any idea where I could find a repair kit for the trim tilt system?
Thank you.

Following procedure from link, seems like trim cylinder problem.

Here's a link for the trim cylinder. Parts #15, 16 and 13 are basically what you will need.

Well that's great. Now you have extra o-rings to include those for the tilt cylinder. The original ebay seller used to be a forum member in here and is considered the T&T expert. However, he has since passed (almost 2 yrs ago) and the online store was taken over by his daughter. Keep us posted on the conclusion of your repairs. Goodluck.

What type of fluid should I use for the trim/tilt reservoir?
Thanks

Others recommend auto transmission fluid but technically there is specific T&T oil which you can get from Walmart.

Today I started to work on the trim/tilt valve assembly. I followed the steps from
http://forums.iboats.com/forum/engin...trim-drop-help

I have ordered the Brigg & Stratton kit and the pair of plier, should be arriving early next week.

Question:

The shuttle valve is still inside the assembly, can't seem to be able to get it out!!! How can I do that? Does it need to be removed?

Thanks

Get a piece of round wood and just push it on one end. It has pointed ends on both ends so you don't want to use an hard object it could break. Or you can just push it with a quick shot of compress air (with air nozzle) just make sure you catch it on the other end with a thick rag NOT WITH BARE HANDS AS IT WILL HURT IF NOT WOUND YOU!

Thanks Jiggz, did the repair as per Sticky and the trim/tilt is working perfectly now, :bounce:. All of it for $25 (o rings and plier).
I had a bit of a hard time disassembling the check valves, even with plier, but finally got it. I have taken a few pics, i'll post them later.
Engine and accessories all working now, what could possibly go wrong, right? :joyous:

Thanks again.
Cheers

Congrats. Trust me it is a lot easier after the first successful try. But with an OEM unit expect it to last many years before the next repair.

Thanks Jiggz. I hope so! Granted, like you said I'd feel better about doing this again. Was actually pretty cool to see how the valve body works.
Cheers
