More than likely you'll be OK. The type of oil doesnt matter. Its extended high RPM runs that may cause a problem. Most times it isnt an issue. Merc put them on some of their medium performance engines like the 225 pro max but they were limited to 6400 most of the time except a few 6750 boxes. I have seen a few chewed up gears but how they got that way I dont know. I do know that I can control the amount of oil getting mixed with the pump so if I want to run a 40:1 mix I can do that with premix.
