On a boat you spend hours at a time with the radio on. Since the boat does not have an ACCESSORY position on the ignition switch, that means you must have the switch in the RUN position. If you happen to have an I/O, that means the rather large current draw for the ignition components are active and can draw down the battery. So both the red and yellow wires can be connected to the same, NON-SWITCHED +12 volt source. The radio has an ON/OFF switch. It doesn't need to be wired to the ignition switch.
