My suggestion for a name... since this boat is no longer built by Sea Ray...

... now its built (much better) by Sea Jay!

I thought of SeaJay earlier but didn't post it. Like that one too! Definitely would be neat in the SeaRay font like AMD posted.

Used 34 gallon of resin so far and will need more
I think 30 yards of 1708 and 50 plus yards of CSM

I like the peanut butter one.

A detailed materials list would be great. Not to be nosey, but I have a feeling I'll be doing something similar soon. It would be nice to know what to expect.
Or better yet, I'll be in Texas in July, I could just drop it off and pay you to do it! LOL
As usual, Everything Looks Great Jay!

Funny Funny. I will be putting a detailed cost sheet together I hope at the end. I am sure someone could have done this cheaper, but I wanted this top notch.

My wife sure liked Sea Jay. I have not seen her get exited about a name like that one.

Well between calls today I got the first layer of CSM down on the Deck. Man does it look good. Tomorrow I will add the second layer, and start building the front storage areas. I need to get alot done before next week. I am getting really busy again.

Holy crap that's allot of material. I'm not even anywhere close to that, granted my boat is much smaller at 17', I've bought 15gallons of resin and didn't even use the rest of the last one.

Just out of curiosity, How much CSM did you lay at one time, and how much Resin did you mix at one time, and how did you apply, Roller, Brush??? Details Professor Jay, Details!!!!!!

I did one 50" strip at a time all the way across the deck, and I mixed 3 quarts at a time and applied it with a roller. Worked out great.

It is alot, but consider the size of this boat.

It is almost 23 ft long, 8' wide and very deep. Some of the stringers were close to 18 inches tall, and I used alot for Peanut Butter mixing. Also you have to consider waste, and I bet I had alot. That little bit in the bottom of the cup when you are finished adds up.

I finished the second layer of CSM on the deck. WHHOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!! No more major glass work is needed. From now on it is small panels and seat mounts. Once again I am out of Resin. So I am off to get more.

"Worth The Weight"?

Jay's Ray
Given the amount of rework, I don't think it should be called a Ray anymore.
