Depending the paint you use for the final coat, this should tell you what primer to use.

Thats how I painted the hull
I followed your formula WOG with great results
use the rustoleum primer on the deck?
then go over it with my non skid paint?

I didnt want to screw anything directly to my new deck so I made a platform to screw the battery box onto
I'm going to tab it in and that will be a sacrificial base for the battery box
hopefully I can prime the deck this weekend

I vacumed everything really well and wiped it down with acetone twice
after all this work the last thing I want is a paint delamination problem
* should I add hardner to the primer and should I sand between coats of primer?

No hardener. Light sanding with 180 grit between coats and wipe down with a 50/50 mix of Mineral Spirits and Acetone.

The feeling is amazing when you start putting things together, instead of tearing apart. Nice work!

Thanks baylinerchuck
What should I use to glue vinyl to wood for the new trim panels I made?

I' going to seal all the trim pieces today with the old timers wood sealer
how do I apply it
do i apply 1 coat and wait until tommorow to apply another or do I just keep applying it until the wood won' absorb any more
also can I paint over this sealer

I got all the trim pieces, dash and the seat bases cut out this afternoon
it ended up being more work than I expected
now I just have to seal them with the old timers wood sealer

Yes, paint old timers on until the wood won’t absorb any more. Really soak the ends. I painted over all of my wood after applying old timers. I used the rustoleum top side paint, however, I’m sure you could get away with a cheaper paint.
