What exactly do you mean?:confused:

Turn the power off from the main switch(not the soft front switch or the remote) or unplug it for 10 seconds and plug it back in.

Yea tried that several times. Left it sit for two days unpluged.

How about contacting Sony. They could put this to rest real quick.

They may be interested in obtaining your dvd, and may even replace your player so they can research it.

Did the DVD have alot of special effects, especially sound effects?

I had 2 different players go belly up after watching the Lord of the Rings. It appeared that the chipsets over heated due to decoding the sound on the disc. They were incredibly hot I mean and smelled like burnt electronics.

RCA was the only players I had problems with though.
