I have been working on a mercruiser 4.3 v6, no serial number, but a 1995 model boat. I am replacing the gasket between exhaust manifold and riser. The local shops only have the gasket that allows full flow. The gasket removed has the restriction holes. Could I use either gasket type? thanks in advance

It's best to wait and get the correct gaskets (restricted) as you'll be switching from warm to cold manifolds. Also on your exhaust system, the full flow gasket is used when you have an exhaust riser. It's normally placed between the riser and elbow. Item #'s 13 & 16, http://www.mercruiserparts.com/Show...r=11&bdesc=EXHAUST+MANIFOLD+AND+EXHAUST+RISER
< You need item # 5.

The proper Merc parts will have the restrictions built in. They are also thicker than aftermarket so they seal better.
