I put my 99' 200 hp mercury efi in the shop in January because the last time i got it out in December it had a smoking problem. The shop fixed the smoking problem , said it was a bad gasket leaking oil into one of the cylinders, also replaced the thermostat and fuel filter. But now i keep getting water in my oil gas mixing canister about (1oz) in the separator every time i go out. definitely a problem with horse power, Keeps dragging up and down and wont get on plain. Anyone know what the problem might be?

Turns out i have Low compression on 2 of my cylinders, # 2 has 30 psi, #6 has almost no pressure. Serial numbers are 0G868336. Any suggestions

Any test I can do to make sure the burnt piston is the problem?

Pull the heads off or if they're that bad you can probably pull all the spark
plugs and be able to tell looking through the spark plug hole. Just rotate
the flywheel until the piston are at or near TDC and visually inspect them.
If the pistons melted it will look like it's chewed up on top with/without
pieces of piston ring stuck to the top.
In any case the heads are going to have to come off anyway.

Took the heads of and had parts of the thing missing on the cylinders i had the compression problems. Replaced and now it works like a champ! ( 115 psi, 110 psi) The piston did look a little bit dimpled with minor damage. The motor has a little chatter but im happy with the power. 60mph on gps. THanks
