my back to back lounge seat broke so i pulled all the staples and am going to replace this rotted piece of plywood the rest is still solid and the hinges are still good, i will use this for a template, the vinyl is still good and i am cheap or frugal

I hate pulling staples ! Slow and tedious work ....

A little late but... Go to the Dollar Store, buy a flat blade screw driver, put it in a vice and bend it to about 20? angle about 1 1/2" from the end of the point. Grind the flat point down till it's very sharp and grind a v-point in the end with a dremel tool. VOILA' This makes an excellent upholstery staple puller. They charge $20 bucks online for them.
