Hopefully the $200 (half what you paid for boat & trailer, and you DEFINITELY got the better of the 2 by keeping the trailer) lesson will help you find, inspect & buy a much better rig that will suit your family better, the next go around.
Now that you have a decent trailer & motor, you can wait then pick & choose to find a great boat. Even use a rusty, beat up trailer or thrashed motor as a bargaining chip to get a great deal on 'just' the boat.
