I have a 1997 mercury magnum tournament engine with about 200 hours about to do my first oil change on it. Want to go with a premium oil. I live in the midwest so temps arent to extreme. Any recommendations on synthetics or blends, weight? Thanks ps Igot the boat last summer i didnt put 200 hours and 14 years on the boat between oil changes lol

Do a forum search on 'oil' and you'll find THOUSANDS of opinions. The best advise is to use a good quality oil of the correct specified weight and certification... If you want to use synthetic, that is your choice...

BY THE BOOK... for your engine.

What is the difference between marine oil and automotive oil? Other than the word marine wich is slang for 2X the money?

If you don't want to use what the manufacturer suggests, then here are a few links to other oil threads to help assist you in choosing your oil.

They all come down to the same thing, people posting something like
"I use ___(Fill in the blank)___ and it works great"
