Re: lower unit storage

According to Section 6 - Winter Storage Page 35 of my 1971 Mercruiser Operation and Maintenance Manual Models 120-140-165 it says:
"Check all stern drive bellows before storing unit in the normal operating position. The universal joint bellows may develop a "set", if unit is stored in a tilted up position, and result in bellows failure when returned to service."
As I am the proud owner of a 1977 MCM 165 inline 6 then following the manual is good enough for me.
