I have 89 40hp that keeps cutting out. Will start fine and idel. Take it up to wot and run fine for some time then cut out and run about 1/3. Then some times give it a rest then run fine. Other times will always will always run fine. Any ideas?
Have you tested the alarm system to see if it is working? ground the pink wire from temp switch to the motor with the key in the on position.
you could be overheating and the alarm is not sounding. Maybe time to change water pump and thermostat.
