Re: New build

That thing looks awesome, I love the lines. It almost has a barrel back like the old chris crafts

Re: New build

Never understood the love affair with that style of boat. Everything from the windshield forward is so much wasted space. But that's just me...

Some people say all boats are a wast of space.:D

I cannot wait to see the build! I love those boats, and a V8 in that will make it scoot for sure!

Everything fwd of the driver is V8 Power!
Notice there is conveniently only just enough room for one scantily clad young passenger.

Re: New build

This boat was designed as a direct drive no gear box so no reverse  I can make it 10% bigger and fit a v drive but causes a lot of other probs. So I wanted to know if anybody has seen one of these a kitchen rudder and can it be fitted to a powerboat. Any help would be great, thanks.

Re: New build

I've never heard of a kitchen rudder before, but I got curious and googled it. There is a pretty cool video of a model on youtube. Obviously you know how it works, but if anyone else want to check it out, here is the link:

skip to about 1:00 in and you'll be at the good part

Re: New build

I built one from a kit for a jet, I called it a clamshell thrust reverser, it works like they do on jet liners.

I think the scantily clad types are supposed to tan on top of all that wasted space. :)

I have all the framework done now just a bit of fairing to do and then start planking,I know I am a bit slow but it's hard to build a boat when you have a boat to play with in this great weather, build or play build or play, play play play ,build:)

She is 15ft 11'' still hope to get a V8 in her I am also looking at the 4.3 mercruiser vortec V6 seems like a good engine with a bit of get up and go and sounds ok they cost ?5500 I am in between buying a new engine or doing up an old one with lots of chrome,it's a toss up 'looks or reliability".

Re: New build crackerbox

You could get the brand new 4.3 litre V-6. You'll save a bit of weight, space, you'll have the reliability (it's a brand new boat, it would be nice to have everything new) and you can order chrome accessories to bolt on for a decent price. They make chrome valve covers, headers, intakes, etc. for these motors.
