    How to stop bolts corroding

    I am replacing the head gaskets on '75 115HP. A number of bolts had corroded to the head, which required a lot of heat to loosen - the threads were fine. When re-assembling, what is best to coat the stem of the bolt with? Marine grease? Aviation gasket sealer (non-hardening)? Thanks

    Vernatherm for 1975 115HP

    I am doing up a Evinrude 115HP 1975. Someone has removered the vernatherm so i have to get the unit, spring and valve. BRP lists 034719 which Siera has 18-3560 at 105 degrees. GLM lists BRP part 0394411 their part 13190 suitable for 1971-1990 at 143 degrees. Which one shoul I use? Thanks Richard

    Crank case flange bolt torque settings

    I am rebuilding my 1977 7HP. The torque settings for the crank case flange bolts is around 70 in/lb or 6 ft/lb. My torque wrench is 10 to 105ft/lb. Is it ok to over torque these to 10 ft/lb? Thanks
