Volvo Penta GXi-E Low Power and 2 DTCs

Usually when they tell you to use a test light it's because they want a lower resistance device in the circuit than a DMM. Sometimes to trigger another component.

Cup holder for pull out tray on Maxum SR3 1800

I don't know what's supposed to be on there but I've seen a system in a road vehicle that would be fairly easy to make. It was just a bent rod that hinged down across the center of the holes.

Anyone boating the north shore of Lake Erie around Long Point

I've been boating the Trent Severn waterway for almost fifty years but we moved last fall to get closer to the grand kids. We have a slip in Port Rowan harbour for our 26 foot this season. Boating one of the great lakes is something total new for me and I'm a little apprehensive. I'm wondering...

    1978 johnson shift cable problems

I think this one looks a little closer. I'm strictly going from the book but it looks like the separator plate #63 is what keeps the pin in the bottom of the shift lever to hold the cable. (if that's the one your having trouble with) This information may help also...

    Trailer bearings stuck. Help?

You need one of these if you can find one. You may need to find a repair shop that's been around since the sixties. They were originally designed to pull the rear hub off of the old dodges with a tapered axle shaft. However they are extremely universes, very strong and if you didn't have a good...

You know it's a crowded lock when.....

I found a picture of the Fenelon Falls lock on a busy summer afternoon. Locking through there tends to be a spectator sport.

You know it's a crowded lock when.....

I was going through last summers holiday pictures and came across this one. You know that they've got you packed in tight when the boater in front of you is using your bow rail as an arm rest.

    Calling All Ontario Members

Well I made it out to Port Severn by water. I took the grandsons and left the wife at home. It's not as bad as it sounds. She's saving her holidays for a trip to the east coast. The Simcoe crossing was OK going down and excellent coming back. It was interesting to see the old rail carriage still...

    Gremlins in the trim!

I don't know much about the Force trim system, but if you have a two wire trim motor and five wire relays, it's most likely the relay that's not clicking when you try the down. The inactive relay has to supply ground to the one motor wire. Both relays ground the motor wires when every thing's...

Your serial number comes up as a 1985. I make the kit to be a Sierra 18-7021. But check your gaskets against the picture. It can be purchased at http://www.iboats.com/Mercury-Carburetor-Repair-Kits/dm/cart_id.241413642--session_id.663171842--view_id.271586

    OMC Cobra hydrostatic seal rings?

Are you talking about the two seals that press into the carrier after the needle bearing, items 27. If so, they're not rings but rubber seals.

    Mystery Vent Hose

It looks like the hose is missing from the bottom of the blower. It should extend as low as practical into the bottom of the bilge without the possibility of sucking up water. The other hose is the air intake and should be tied up just below the level of the air breather (flame arrester) on the...

Need to move some items from one battery to another

The 4 fuse block is a Sierra Marine FS40630-1. It also comes in a 6 fuse version, part #FS40640-1. You would normally feed it with 10 gauge wire with a 30 amp fuse close to the battery. The top buss is for the grounds. The bottom one is the supply. The electrical devices plug into the center row.
