Direct drive ski boat on roller trailer?

I just purchased a nearly mint 1997 Moomba Boomerang but the trailer is rusted and unsafe to use. Looking locally I've found a couple of roller type trailers that are taller and narrower (which is good) but I'm concerned about using a different type of trailer than the original. Any thoughts?

    1979 Mariner 115 carb/fuel pump rebuild advice.

My boat was stored properly indoors from 1986 until the summer of 2010. It starts right up and runs decent, however at full throttle sometimes it will just lose RPM and die. It always fires right back up and runs the same but doesn't like to run at WOT for long. I would imagine that 24 years...

    Fuse Block location?

I have a 1980 Jetster, it didn't have much in the way of electrical accessories when I bought it. Just a motor, nav lights and fuel gauge. There are no fuses installed that I can find and I have a small problem with that. I've since added a stereo and a bilge pump. My question is, where is the...

1980 Mariner 115 Gauge addition question.

I have a 1980 Jetster 17' runabout/ski boat. It's in awesome original condition, I bought it from the original owner who took excellent care of it. The only gauge it has is a speedo. I want to add a tach, temp, water pressure and maybe volt meter. Can anyone tell me how easy it's going to be...

    Killed my battery

So I haven't started my boat in months, went out today to see if it would and you know it, dead battery. It's a pretty new deep cycle 75 amp hour. My problem is that my big charger died and all I have now is a 1 amp motorcycle battery charger. The voltage on the battery now reads about 10.5...

    115 Mariner same as Mercury?

So I sort of hijacked another thread with this question but figured I'd ask it outright here. I have a 1980 Jetster with a 115 Mariner on it. I assumed that the motor was also a 1980 since I bought the boat and motor from the original owner. What's throwing me off here is that the motor has a...

    Emptying carbs during inactivity

I thought it would be a good idea to empty the carbs while I'm not using the boat for any length of time. Would pinching off the fuel lines and running it until it dies be OK? The only problem I can foresee is that it's essentially running it lean for a minute or two and it might weaken the...

    Adding a barrel switch

Like the post says, I'm adding a battery barrel switch to my 1980 Jetster with a Mariner 115. All it has to kill the power is the ignition key. I have the switch itself and a piece of battery cable with lugs on either end so I'm ready to install. My question is, do I put the switch on the...

    Jetster Ski Boat

Buying one tomorrow. It's a 17' with Mariner 115 outboard. It's in almost perfect shape, one owner since new in 1980. I can't find a lot of information about these boats. It does seem to be built fairly lightly but it's been stored inside and has no rot, rust or problems. Just serviced with...

    Junk in bellows

I finally succeeded in removing my outdrive ('91 Alpha One) and now wish I hadn't. The boat was a freebie from my uncle and has been sitting for the last 3-4 years. I removed the engine (3.0 mercruiser) but the outdrive was stuck, finally got it off and the shaft, bearing and u-joints are...

    Stuck Alpha One outdrive

I inherited a '91 Bayliner Capri from my uncle. He said it needed a front seal, a trim pump for the outdrive and some interior work. Well, I got the motor out, replaced the front cover that was rusted through, new gaskets on everything, rebuilt fuel pump, new recirc pump, plugs, points, hoses...
