Hey guys - Didn't we have a sticky for Linc and sync procedures??
I cleaned my carbs down really good, pulled the jets, and they all looked fine....so now I am back to link and sync I think??
Here's a link to my old post to explain what I'm talking about.
Thanks,
SM
I noticed on my boat trailer that only the left turn signal / brake light is working. Recently, I pulled another trailer and same thing. No running lights, nothing at all on the right side.
Can anybody tell me how to start to troubleshoot this?? I am pulling with a 2005 F-150.
Thanks,
SM
Year before last I rebuilt my '83 Johnny 115. Last year I took it out in February and it would not come up to plane. Got up to about 10 mph fairly smoothly, and then stays there.
Due to extremely high gas prices last year, that was my one and only trip to the lake.
I was told it was a carb...
Guys,
Many of you have helped me over the last year on doing a rebuild opn my 1983 Johnson 115. Thank you for all the help you have given me!
Last Saturday I finally got it on the water - I was trying to get a working tach so I could do a link and sync, but could not wait any longer. So, I got...
I just got a new tachometer for my boat. On the back there is a selector switch and the instructions say set to 1/2 the number of poles on the alternator.
Can anyone please tell me how many poles are on a 1983 Johnson 115hp?
Currently the new tach is not registering anything which leads me to...
I have pulled the shift cables from my 1983 115hp Johnson. As I have a bunch of Bass Pro gift cards, I wanted to see if I could get it there. Anyway, they told me they only carry Mercury parts and could not help me.
I went on their website and the 11' shift cable for a Mercury looks EXACTLY...
I am looking to replace my shift cable on my 1983 115hp Johnson. I see various lengths.
Do I simply remove the old one and measure it and buy the new one accourdingly?
Thanks,
SM
I have a question about my 1983 Johnson 115hp water pump. I am finishing a 10 month rebuild project - actually I was finished with the powerhead back in the fall but hunting season happened so here I am now.
Anyway, I got a water pump impeller and kit for it and have it all put together. When...
I am finishing the rebuild on my 81 115hp - I am thinking the choke solenoid is sounding a bit different these days. I hear a little click, but I am not convinced that it is working right.
Can anyone tell me what position is the manual position on the choke solenoid?
I have started it before...
I have been working on a year long project rebuilding my powerhead (81 Johnson 115hp) - actually I finished it up in the summer and haven't had any time to do a link & sync. What will happen if I go fishing without doing it?/
Thanks,
SM
Finished a powerhead rebuild a while back, but now have a mysterious water leak - see this thread for a picture: http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=199410
I have a question about the water tube that goes from the water pump to the powerhead.
1. Is this replaceable? How do I know if it...
I am purchasing a new water pump - trying to fix the water leaking from my exhaust housing (see this thread: http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=199410)
However, on one site I have looked at, there is one for a 20" shaft and another for a 25" & 30" shaft.
How do I measure the shaft...
I am re-trying this under a different title hoping others will look at it more readily.
Engine is a '83 115hp Johnson.
Ok Guys - I am pretty much finished with my rebuild - MANY THANKS to all of you who have given me very good pointers and walked me through!!!!!

BUT....I saw water pouring out from...
As some of you may have seen, I have rebuild my '83 115hp Johnson.
2 of the Cylinders are .20 over and 2 are .30 over.
Does this add any horsepower and if so, how much more?
Thanks,
