Hi, whenever I turn the flywheel by hand, the motor makes a strange noise. It is a 1982 80 hp mariner. 4 cylinder, 2 carbs. I have been told this is the compression leaking from the motor. Is this correct? Any info will help, thanks

Ive been working on the carbs on a mariner (cleaned and rebuilt them) and it still runs the same. Idles rough, shakes, and not much power WOT. I havent had the engine timing adjusted. Could this be the cause of the problem? Thanks- mason
I just cleaned the carbs on this mariner and put new needles and seats in the carbs. Ialso adjusted the floats to the proper height. It stay running just fine but it seems to rev up and down slightly. I havent had the chance to take it out on the water yet
Hi i just got this 83' 80 hp mariner running and on the muffs i noticed it was running bad. I ran some sea foam through it and tested it on the water and no difference. It stalled most of the time when put in gear and in WOT the rpms seemed to jump from high to low but it still keep me going...
I just fixed the ignition on this mariner and but a new fuel line on it. We tested it on the water for the first time and it ran but would not go into gear without stalling. It would only run with the fast idle engaged. I have tested it for spark and it has spark on all 4 cylinders. Im assuming...
I recently fixed the ignition on my motor and i tried to start it and the flywheel barely turns. I took the plugs out and then tried it and it turned fine so the starter motors not bad. Im stumped. Any suggestions?
