Help! Job prospect in Albany, NY - will I find fishing there?

In my part of Texas I have a dozen or more reservoirs within a 2-hour drive, ranging from 7000 to 90,000 acres -- so much water, so little time. If I pursue this position in Albany, my research shows a bunch of lakes from 5 acres to a couple hundred, most of which don't even allow motorboats...

A farewell to an old friend...and welcome aboard to a new one

Couple months ago, after many years faithful service, my big yella hound and loyal first mate, Dusty, passed away. I suspect a heart attack, but arthritis and dysplasia had taken a pretty big toll so maybe, he just decided it was time. You could say his last good deed was to crawl up under a...

Help me set up my bunks

Re: Help me set up my bunks I also have a 15ft trihull, 70hp My trailer has two bunks, just like your last picture, but they only reach to about halfway between the 2nd & 3rd crossmembers, as shown below. Except, move the bunks out just a bit, they're not right up against the strakes. I have...

    Ever rent your home out?

My house is 3 1/2 miles from Super Bowl 45. I see similar homes being listed for $2,500 to $3,500 per night, 3-night minimum. 1/2 in advance, balance on the day of. Security deposit, etc. It sounds too good to be true...what am I missing here? Ever done it? Would you do it again?

Need a new fishfinder, opinions please...

My old FF finally bit the dust, Eagle fishmark320, it was satisfactory. Just thought I'd check in for opinions... Much as I'd like to have color, it looks like color units in my budget (around $200) don't have enough resolution for me. Side- & down-imaging look like lots of fun, but pretty...

Explorer trailer wiring problem, help, please!

I thought I knew about trailer wiring but this problem has me so confused....... It's a 98 Explorer Sport, 4-flat trailer harness, factory trailer wiring, with an adaptor plugged in under the drivers side bumper. It's worked fine for years. Now I don't have brake/turn on the right side...

Need a little help troubleshooting, 01 Escape won't start

My daughter's 2001 Escape v6, about 85,000 miles, had it about a year, don't have prior service history. Turns over normally, won't start. Now she tells me, for a few weeks it's been intermittently failing to start, but only when warm and after driving several short trips. Usually resolved...

    Disc brakes

Just replaced the front pads and rotors on my 1998 Explorer, my first DIY brake job. 2-piston floating calipers. I've pumped the pedal and have good pressure. Haven't put the wheels back on yet. I just have a couple questions: When I spin the hubs, the pads remain in contact with the...

Heads up, 1980 & older OMC owners

You know those white plastic fittings that hold the throttle linkages in place? A couple on each carb, and 1 or 2 ball/socket joints for the spark advance rod? They seem to have a useful life of just about 30 to 32 years, then they start breaking. Once one breaks, might as well replace 'em...

Shift rod disconnect, 1973 6hp rude?

My old evinrude 6 has just been returned to me from storage in my dad's garage. Don't have a boat for it, just I thought I'd clean it up & crank it up. Hasn't been cranked since, maybe 1985. Far as I know, it's still got the original impeller, but I cannot for the life of me find the shift...

There's 2 undocumented parts in my lower unit? (1979 triple) *** PICS ADDED ***

1979 rude 70, 20" shaft, model no. 70973R 2 parts, I can't find 'em on any of the charts, not mentioned in the OEM manual or seloc either: *A water tube guide extension sort of thing -- plastic tube about 5" long, just a hair smaller diameter than the water tube guide (attached to pump...

What do you guys do when your impeller is stuck to your drive shaft?

Can't budge it. That's never happened before -- maybe something to do with that wedge-shaped plastic key? I applied a couple shots of PB blaster this morning, its soaking in. Any advice welcome. thanks! 1979 rude 70
