    How hard is it to work on the lower unit?

    I want to check out my clutch dogs and possibly switch the forward and reverse clutch dog. I have a manual, but it is not with my boat. Do you think I can just tear into the lower unit and make the switch? I'm fairly mechanically enclined and have the seal kit.

    Battery not charging. What could be wrong?

    1984 85 HP Force. My voltmeter on my depthfiner was at 11.5 volts while cruzing at 4000 rpms. This seams wrong. What could be wrong? 1. A wire came disconnected. 2. Stator. 3. Rectifier P.S. Engine runs fine, it just appears that the battery is not being charged.

    Minn Kota Copilot speeds?

    I know the current Copilot systems have a 1-10 speed control. I'm thinking about buying a copilot system, but does anyone know if minn kota is going to be coming out with a system that has more than 10 speeds? I might wait a year if they are.

    What kind of grease to use on the starter?

    1984 85HP force. The gear on the starter that pops up to engage the flywheel will not go back down. I'm pretty sure that all I have to do is take the starter apart a little bit, clean, and grease. What grease should I use? Do I need some sort of marine grease? I do not boat in salt water.
