    Force rebuild or not.

It has been said that a Force is not worth rebuilding. I agree my 1990 90hp Force is old technology, but I am curious if I rebuild it with quality parts, shouldn't it last a long as any other rebuild engine?

    Piston ?

I am thinking of rebuilding my 1990 Force 90hp. I priced pistons from dougrussell.com. The piston were two differnt prices. $50 for a normal piston or $100 for a "class 700" piston. Is there a lot of diffence in the quality of pistons?<br />Am I shopping in the right place?

The engine is a 1990 Force 90. I orderd a Seloc manual and used it to set the linkages. When I advance the throttle control handle at the drivers seat. I can watch the timing advance linkage and the throttle cam. The both advance together. That all seams good. However, the throttle cam...

I recently purchased a 1990 Bayliner Capri. Please don’t be mad. I know it is a the Kia of boats. I would like to restore the shine. The boat is white and I don’t think it had a clear coat over the white. It is not cloudy or flaking. It is just dull. I use a little Mcquire’s car...

    Rusty spark plug. Bad engine?

I just got permission to check out this 3.0 liter Mercruiser before I buy it. What a sharp 1996 Bayliner with less than 100 hours on it. The problem is when I pulled the spark plugs, the #1 plug had water between the gap. The plug was rusty. I dipped a screwdriver thought the plug hole and...
