    Is my motor governed down?

    Last year I bought a brand new 2017 18ft pontoon with a 2017 Mercury 9.9 EPLT Pro Kicker. At WOT it's running 2800-3000 rpm. I looked up the specs of that motor and Mercury says it should 5000-6000 max rpm. Why am I only getting 3000? Is my motor governed down so as to protect it? Thanks Jim

    Lightning - Am I Protected?
