Do you reccomend titelock on all the bolts for an outdrive when reassembling?

Hey guys, I'm refurbing a volvo penta SPA (similar to 280) outdrive, and am working on the rebuild right now. Started the shimming process. One crazy thing seems to be that I could A) go through a ton of calculations to shim the forward and reverse gear, or B) just slap on 0.2 mm (0.008") shims...
Ok, I'm refurbing the upper of a volvo penta 280. It's got a big circular "plug" that looks like it's unnaturaly punched through in the center. What the heck does this thing do? Do I need to patch the puncture hole with JB weld?

Still working on that old volvo penta 280 Outdrive but I cant seem to seperate the clamping ring from the double bearing box in the upper gearcase! I've taken two pics of it, it's crazy, in the manual, p35 of 280toDP-C_manual.pdf it explicitly mentions to push out the double bearing box...
Hey folks, I've got two identical aluminum Volvo Penta 280 outdrives.
One is assembled and painted with the standard grey volvo paint.
One is totally disassembled (upper, intermediate, and lower) and has been stripped to bare aluminum and had some pitting filled with JB Weld.

One seriously dumb question though. One of the 280 outdrives had to be disassembled to replace the verticle shaft. It hadn't been disassembled since it had been manufacturered in like 1985...
