Chrysler 35hp Water Pump Questions

I've got the water pump out of the motor (it's a '69) and the rubber bushing that goes between the pump housing and the water pipe is in pretty sad shape - see photo. What's this part called and is it available? Also, the impeller face surface in the housing is pitted. I guess I expected it to be fairly smooth. Is pitting normal or should I get a new housing.

Thanks, Jim

I really don't remember what the rubber part is called but I'm certain you could get one from franzmarin@aol.com. As for the pump body: These pumps act as centrifugal pumps at high speed and the impeller vanes do not touch the body wall. Thus if the pitting is not too bad and if the top surface is decent, you can probably use it.

Frank,

Thanks for the reply. The pitting is not too bad. There are stainless wear plates above and below the impeller, which are in pretty good shape. I'll try Franz for the bushing and have him price the other stuff I need to get this back together.
