Hi, I have a new to me 2001 Optimax 225 that I am going thru for maintenance items and am going to be changing the 2 air compressor oil line filters. I have read multiple posts with folks stating ‘be sure to use the special Merc zip ties that will ensure a full circumferential seal.
Sounds great however Mercury’s on-line parts catalog (using my engine SN) does not show hose ‘clamps’ or ties at the filter location and my motor (with only 248 hrs) does not have any ties there either. Any thought? Are they needed or just added security?
