the harnesses are 20 dollars or so, you will also need a digital multimeter to use them, yamaha sells cans of combustion chamber cleaner, I soak them an hour or so, overnight if I forget its soaking.<br /> while its possible that oring is the cause I would look more to a restriction a clagged ressure regulator or regulator filter.<br /> next time your sceaming crosss the lake have someone keep an eye on the fuel pressure gauge. it should remain mostly steady about 35PSI if it bounces more than 2 or 3 PSI you have a problem. the "poppet" filter is located in the pressure regulator on the inside edge of the VST. its just a fine wire mesh.<br /> fuel system vacum at the point between the filter and VST should be less than 6"Hg at wot. anything more and you have a restriction.

i have a 2004 150hp yamaha could i encounter the same problem, or do i have a different setup? just trying to learn.

in 04 there we like 5 models of the 150, can ya tell me what model you have ?
