Wire Clips where to find

I've searched through some old posts and can't find anything.

I've been running new wire for my boat, the old wire was corroded and had many splices in it. So starting new with clean wire and there are old metal clips to keep the wire in place and not bouncing around. I have been to about every auto parts store and some marine stores but can't find them.

Does anyone know where I can find them or what to use as a replacement with out drilling holes in the boat? I can find the zip tie type but to keep it from moving you have to screw them to something.

I'm sure you mean you are looking for cable clamps. The same place you find zip ties you will find cable clamps that are metal, plastic and metal with a rubber covering in the clamp area. the electrical dept of Home Depot, Lowes, farm stores, and other similar stores have them.

I haven't tried home depot or such but have tried hardware stores. But will try there.

I have seen the cable clamps with adhesive backing but have had past experiences with these and they always seem to fall off.

I'm looking for flat metal clips for holding the wire next to sheet metal or something to replace these without putting more holes in the boat.

Are there any that you don't need to screw into the boat to secure them? That's what I am looking for, but it seems like they don't make them anymore.

If you wires run in out of the way areas, you could always glue a 1x1 piece of 3/4 material to the hull and screw into that. Sort of extreme, but works well

Use this style. They don't rust. They are available in metal as well. Definitely available at Lowes and Home Depot and they are cheap.

I think he is looknig for the metal ones that clip on as he doesn't want to drill holes. They are metal s clips that you clip on and then wire tie the cable to. Atleast they are on my boat. :p

Here's some options I have found.

Stick on's

Plastic Clip on's
You probably have the metal version of these.

I can't find the clips that I think you have anywhere. :(
You are right about most of the stick on types. If you replace the stick on tape with 3M body side moulding tape you will never have a problem with them falling off as long as you prep the surface you are going to stick it to properly and that surface is flat. Use alcohol and make sure the temp is aboue 65 degrees and they will last forever.

I know what you are looking for got some with my last set of led trailer lights as part of the kit, have never seen them for sale seperatly, maybe an RV/Trailer dealer that carries parts. My buddy just rebuilt his trailer and we ran PVC conduit on the bottom of the rail and the wiring through the conduit. It works really well.

Yes the ones I am looking for are the metal that just slide onto the sheet metal. Drifter I might try the last ones in your email.

I may try the 3m tape, but for now I will take the clip type you can get anywhere and use a dab of silicon to see if they stay put.

Thanks for the help.
