So I'm out on the water this weekend...enjoying a perfect morning on the lake. I've pulled up to my favorite cove/beach and after a few hours, decide it's time for a cruise. I went to start the engine and I've got nothing!!! After testing two batteries, I just ran some jumper cables straight from the positive terminal on the battery to the terminal on the starter...cranked right up. What's the deal here? Any thoughts?

Btw... I had a buddy do this with his boat after having broke the key in the ignition. No idea why it worked then nor do I now. Thoughts?

Thanks for your help!

Re: Why You No Start?!?

There is more than likely a corroded connection either at the starter solenoid or the ignition switch.
