Is the cabinet metal, and is it in contact with the metal of the shed? If so, that is the likely current path that was causing the problem.

the cabinet is not metal so i am a little leery if that was it but it does not get hot any more who know i guess i will just keep an eye on it

Sounds like your lighting ground is not a good connection at the battery and getting grounded through the antenna braid as a few other people have mentioned.
