White smoke out of exhaust ports

Since Ive had the motor everytime I cut the motor out, a little steam would come out of the two ports below the powerhead, but lately I would get a lot of white smoke out of them after running and then comming to idle on the water.. What could this be? Motor is 1988 175 merc.

A little would be normal. A lot? That's debateable.

When was the last time the water pump was serviced?

I just got it back from the mechanic a couple weeks ago, the whole lower unit was rebuilt including water pump, also new thermostats.. And another thing I wanted to ask, the thermostats were rusted away when I first got the motor and it had a strong **** stream, now, with the new stats, its weak and just dribbles out at idle.. is that normal also?
