What year is this Johnson 235 HP engine?

I have a Johnson 235 HP 2stroke outboard - J235TLCRC serial#J5972968. Anyone know the year? What is the TLCRC after the J235 represent?

T= tiller steering
L= long shaft
CR=1984
C= model run

That engine would never have had tiller steering. The "T" in this model number refers to two things: electric start and power trim/tilt. That designation was used on engines from 1980 through the 1998 model year.

I would hate to think of tillering a 235!!!!! Makes my whole body hurt....
