Re: What size trim tabs do I need for my 28' twin Chevy 350 Cabin Cruiser
Where do you use the boat? Minimum plate size would be 18" wide by 9" deep. Would be better if you can go to 24" wide by 9" deep. Check with Bennett.
Thanks for the info. I read some info on Bennett's site.
I have dual stringers hanging off the back of the boat. The maximum width I have while staying off the chines is 16 inches. If I go over part of the chines I can go to 19 inches. My boat can also get up to about 50 MPH. Bennett says for speeds between 40 and 60 MPH you should use the ST16 which is 12-inch wide x 16-inch long and has dual actuators. Any idea how the extra long tabs will perform at low speeds?
My main reason for tabs would be to correct the list at planning speeds and to plane at lower speeds for high speed trolling.
I assume that smart tabs do not correct list.
