What setting on rpm guage for evinrude 150

I have a 1990 evinrude xp150. I took the rpm guage out of a different boat with a 1977 200hp Evinrude, and want to put it in this one. It is a teleflex amega and has the settings of 6p, 5p, 4p, 8c, 3p 6c, and 2p 4c. See pic.... which setting is for the 1990 150?

Oh, also it says that the p stands for pulses... on the old tach it was set at 12p, but that tach said that the p stood for posts.

Usually the tachometer would be set on #6 (6 pulses). The charging system emits 6 pulses.

The old tach was referring to the 12 poles in the flywheel. That's why you set it to position # 6 as Joe said.
